Welcome to AmritaConnect!

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AmritaConnect (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the Terms, please do not use the Service. This app is exclusively for current students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and requires a valid Amrita University email for registration.

2. User Accounts

When creating an account, users must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.

  • You agree to use only your official Amrita Gmail ID to register. The same email cannot be used to create multiple accounts.
  • One person is allowed only one active account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and OTP.
  • Sharing accounts or impersonation is strictly prohibited.

3. Authentication

Users are verified via OTP sent to their Amrita Gmail or phone number. Failing to verify through either method will deny access to the platform.

4. User Conduct

You agree NOT to use the app to:

  • Post or share illegal, threatening, abusive, obscene, or offensive content.
  • Harass, stalk, or impersonate any other user.
  • Create fake identities or profiles.
  • Engage in abusive, harmful, or discriminatory behavior.
  • Attempt to bypass app rules, logic, or security systems.

AmritaConnect reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban users who violate these rules.

5. Matchmaking & Features

  • Matches occur only when both users swipe right on each other.
  • Profiles are shown based on gender-based pairing logic.
  • Users can optionally share social media links (Instagram, Facebook, phone number), which are only visible after a match.
  • Profiles and messages are private and not accessible to other users.

6. Campus-Based Access

  • The app supports all 9 Amrita campuses.
  • Users must choose their campus accurately during registration.
  • Users may see matches within or across campuses, depending on their filter settings.

7. Termination of Use

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms or violate community rules.

8. Content Responsibility

  • Users are solely responsible for the content (bio, profile photo, social links, etc.) they post.
  • The app does not verify the accuracy or authenticity of profile data.
  • We reserve the right to remove content that violates app rules.

9. Admin Rights & Disclaimer

The developer/admin has the right to:

  • Remove fake or abusive profiles.
  • Moderate chat and activity.
  • Monitor analytics (not personal messages).
  • Ban, mute, or limit features for misbehavior.

⚠️ Disclaimer: The app is a platform for connecting students. The developer or admin is NOT responsible for:

  • User actions, behaviors, or chat contents
  • Emotional consequences, fights, breakups, or real-world meetups
  • Misuse of features or violations by other users

By using this app, you agree not to hold the developer/host liable for any harm, damage, emotional loss, or legal issue that results from interactions within the app.

10. Data & Privacy

  • We do not sell, trade, or publicly share your personal data.
  • Your Amrita email is used only for login/authentication purposes.
  • All profile data can be deleted if the account is deleted.

11. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted within the app and are effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
